Mexican Conservation Directory

Foto: Comunidad de Aprendizaje Manejo del Fuego por Raśl Valadez One of the FMCN’s foremost goals is to improve communication opportunities within the conservationist community.
Eight years ago, in collaboration with the British Council and the National Commission for Biodiversity Knowledge and Use (CONABIO), FMCN published the first edition of the Mexican Conservation Directory.
The Directory is the country’s most complete and best organized compilation of conservation organizations, research institutes, funding institutions, and conservation projects. The Directory also gives Mexican organizations information on foreign institutions, which are potential sources of information, technical assistance, and funding for their conservation projects. FMCN updates it every year and distributes it free of charge.

At the end of 1999, part of the Directory was put on FMCN’s web page in order to improve its effective reach within the conservation community.
Currently, the data base and the printing of the Directory are in charge of The Environmental Education and Communication Fund (FCEA), which, during 2005, issued its eight edition. The data base can be consulted through FMCN or FCEA web pages http://www.eambiental.org

The 2005 edition of the Directory can be obtained, free of charge, at info@eambiental.org
